Privacy
How we handle your information.
This notice explains what personal information Dunya Mediations collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who we are
Dunya Mediations is a trading name of Al Dunya Ltd, registration 15244792, registered in England and Wales, registered office Coleman Avenue, Hove, BN3 5ND. Al Dunya Ltd is the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
Your name and contact details; the details of the dispute and the parties involved; correspondence and documents you send us; and fee and payment records.
Why we use it
To decide whether mediation suits the dispute and whether there is a conflict of interest; to arrange and run the mediation, including the agreement to mediate; to record any settlement reached; and to manage fees and keep proper accounting records.
Our lawful basis
Performance of a contract, for the agreement to mediate and the mediation itself. Legitimate interests, for considering an enquiry before any contract exists. Legal obligation, for accounting and tax records.
Confidentiality
Mediation is confidential and conducted on a without prejudice basis. Nothing you send us, and nothing said in a private session, is passed to the other party without your permission.
Who we share it with
The other party, only with your permission. Professional advisers and insurers where that is necessary. HMRC and regulators where the law requires it. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not proceed are kept for twelve months. Mediation files and financial records are kept for six years, which is the period we are required to retain accounting records and after which a professional negligence claim could still be brought.
Your rights
You have the right to see the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to ask us to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. To exercise any of these, email us. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking. There is nothing to consent to and no banner to dismiss. If that ever changes, this notice will be updated and a cookie notice added before anything is set.
